A college education is one of the most important investments a person can make. Nymeo is dedicated to helping youth in our communities as they begin this journey by offering college scholarship opportunities. The 2026 application will be available in February.

Youth are the future. Nymeo takes an active role in supporting students in our communities by investing in their future through the Believe and Achieve Scholarship Program. Since 2015, we have awarded over $32,000 in scholarships to 21 students. There are two $1500 scholarships available. Frederick or Montgomery County High School Seniors and also Nymeo members, no matter where they live, are welcome to apply.
Deadline for applications is Midnight, Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Awards will be announced in May 2025.
Are you headed off to college or trade school in 2025? Nymeo and the Credit Union Foundation of MD|DC are pleased to announce college scholarships to make it easier for you to meet tuition costs. The $24,000 Credit Union College Scholarship Program for 2025 is now accepting applications! College-bound members are eligible to apply for one of ten $2,000 essay-based scholarships or two $2,000 video-based scholarships, and you may apply in both categories! Any member of Nymeo entering their freshmen through senior year of college or trade school may apply!

Applying for the FAFSA is the first place college students should start. This is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You should apply every year, even if you don’t think you will qualify. Many scholarship and grant programs require the FAFSA to be submitted before you are even considered. Make sure to check with your guidance counselor for scholarships and grants available - don't forget that Nymeo offers scholarships!. If you need a loan, it is recommended to take federal student loans before you explore private student loan options. The FAFSA deadline for the 2025-26 school year is June 30, 2026. MHEC anticipates that the first round of awards will be completed by May 1 including all eligible applicants who have completed a FAFSA by April 15.
